Where you can sell
- Airsoft Exchange
- A UK marketplace for airsoft guns, parts, gear and clothing. Listing is free, and you message buyers directly to agree payment and postage or collection.
- Airsoft forum classifieds
- Used by regular players. Each forum sets its own rules for who can post.
- Airsoft shops
- Some shops buy used guns or sell them for you on commission. It’s quicker, but you’ll usually get less than from a private sale.
Can you sell airsoft guns on eBay, Facebook, Gumtree or Vinted?
No. Each one bans them, and listings that break the rules are removed.
- eBayIts airsoft and BB gun policy does not allow BB guns. You can list BBs.
- Facebook MarketplaceMeta's commerce policy bans airsoft guns, their parts and BBs.
- GumtreeBans guns, including BB guns and replica guns.
- VintedBans air guns and airsoft guns.

What the law says
Selling a realistic imitation firearm (RIF) is an offence unless the buyer has a defence. That applies to private sellers as well as shops. For airsoft, the usual check is the buyer’s UKARA number. How UKARA works
Two-tone guns don’t need a defence, but you can’t sell any imitation firearm to someone under 18.
If you post a gun, check that your courier accepts replica firearms.
How to sell on Airsoft Exchange
- Create an account and add your postcode so buyers can see your area.
- List the item with clear photos and an honest description.
- Answer buyers’ messages and agree payment and postage or collection.
- Use a payment method that protects the buyer, such as PayPal Goods & Services where the item is eligible. Mark the item as sold when it’s done.
Tips
- Check similar listings before you set a price.
- Give the brand, model, upgrades and any faults, and show the faults in photos.
- State the FPS and the BB weight you tested with. The FPS calculator converts between BB weights.
- Say what’s included: magazines, batteries, spare parts.
